The back story
Fall 2023
Since 2020 I have been meeting with God for two hours or so weekly at a time we call Abide. This does not replace my daily time with the Lord, however, this time has enriched my relationship with God in ways that are not always easy to explain. Just suffice it to say that James 4:8 “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” came alive to me as I spent this time with Him. One night in the fall of 2023 I was telling a friend that when I was younger I wrote short stories and poems and a few were published (don’t get excited, it was a small publication but I did get paid a whopping $25 for each). As I was telling this to my friend, I could feel God’s prompting to write some poetry. Later that night He prompted me to write 30 poems in 30 days. (They weren’t all that good, but a few I will share on this blog.) I accomplished it and really did not write more than the thirty.

March 2024
March of 2024, I went outside one night and was
overwhelmed with the beauty of God’s creation (see reflection Glitter). That
night I felt compelled to write about it. Then I once again felt the Lord
saying to write, but this time it was 30 devotionals (I call them reflections)
in 30 days. I did it. (I still continue to do so.) I shared some of them with
various people and to my surprise many said I should put them together in a
book. There are so many devotional books out there I could not see adding one
more that is by an obscure writer to the mix.

However, in a conversation with a very close friend, I got the idea of compiling a book to create as a legacy to hand down to my amazing grandchildren. With the help of a friend to find a book writing program, I accomplished the book. I printed enough to give to my grandchildren, some close relatives and friends. For me, the book was a major challenge but I have to say creating a website without any background in website construction has been even a greater challenge. As I stated in the section Why a Blog?, I once again heard prompts from the Lord to make this happen.

As I put this blog together, I pray over it that whoever reads it will have new insight into who God is and would seek to know Him, and/or know Him better. I pray that this would glorify the Lord and that you, dear reader, could feel His presence in each post. I pray it will help you come to know the overwhelming awesomeness of our Creator God.
May God bless you as you read.
